About 30 local musicians, including members of Great Big Sea, Shanneyganock, The Navigators, The Irish Descendants, The Masterless Men, solo artists and others got together at Erin’s Pub in St. John’s Wednesday night to record vocals for Dermot O’Reilly’s final project. O’Reilly, of Ryan’s Fancy, died in 2007, leaving behind an unfinished record. Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle is working on completing it, and gathered some of O’Reilly’s friends at his favourite pub to record the backing vocals on one of the tracks.
