• The Arthritis Society is gearing up for another door-to-door campaign in Newfoundland and Labrador during September — Arthritis Awareness Month. This campaign is an important fundraiser for The Society and we need volunteers. • The Newman Wine Vaults Provincial Historic Site, 436 Water St., is open for the season. Admission is by donation or through advance booking for larger groups. • The Buy A Bear Foundation is looking for donations of stuffed animals to support the Janeway Foundation and Childrens Miracle Network. To donate, bears can be dropped off at the Janeway Foundation office in the Health Sciences Centre or at 10 Cumberland Cres. • The Lifesaving Society in Newfoundland is working towards collecting and preserving its history of lifeguard training and water and boating safety and needs your help.
