Hospital experiencing power outages

Eastern Health is asking that anyone who needs emergency care in St. John's, to go to St. Clare's Hospital and not the Health Sciences Centre.
The Health Sciences Centre is experiencing power outages in some areas of the hospital.
All radiation treatments at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre are cancelled for the rest of the day.
Eastern Health staff will contact patients to reschedule appointments and treatments.
The cardiac cath lab, cardiac echo lab and EKG departments have resumed operations.
Hospitals are currently processing blood work for emergency and in-patient services only; therefore, walk-in blood collection services at the Health Sciences Centre, Janeway, St. Clare's and Waterford Hospitals are cancelled for the remainder of the day.
Eastern Health is hoping to have the power restored shortly.
