If you thought Alfa's 8C Competizione was a modern remake of a classic design, you ain't seen nothing yet.  New on the scene is something that looks decidedly old in profile, paying homage to Alfa Romeo's classic TZ1 and TZ2 racers, but is also ultra-modern under its lightweight aluminum skin.

Revealed at the XII Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Milano, Italy, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa, a Zagato design, boasts the same high-revving V8 that comes with 8C Competizione, plus the latest mono shell carbon fibre tubular chassis technology.

If the TZ3 tugs on your heartstrings, there's likely no amount of money that will pull it away from its new owner just yet, and you'd need to have a racing license anyway.  This sweet little Italian is a purebred racer, and not for the faint of heart.  The brave soul who commissioned it is German Alfa Romeo Zagato collector Martin Kapp, who also owns an SZ coda tonda and SZ coda tronca, TZ and TZ2, Junior Z and S.Z.

The TZ3 Corsa was created to honour 100 years of motorsport by Italian firms Scuderia Ferrari, Alfa Corse, Autodelta, and Scuderia Zagato.
