We've seen some pretty impressive sport steering wheels, but nothing quite as "flashy" as BMW's M Performance wheel. Lightweight carbon fibre trim and grippy suede-like alcantara material combine for a fashionably functional man-machine interface, but more than that it boasts a variety of displays for myriad information.

Twin LED indicators are located at 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock, which can be set up to act as shift lights to sequence from green to red when engine revs peak and a shift is needed, or alternatively they can be used as a drag strip "Christmas tree" when running the quarter mile. The centre display at 12 o'clock can be configured for a variety of uses, such as oil and coolant temperature, G-load, or simply as a secondary speedometer.

The M Performance steering wheel is available for 1 Series, 3 Series and M cars produced since 2006, and it can be yours for a mere $1,700. Yes, it's the perfect gift for the Bimmer owner who has everything.
