Buick's Enclave full-size luxury crossover vehicle first debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model and was well regarded for its elegant styling and three-row seating. The Enclave has been updated for the 2013 model year and was on show at this spring's New York International Auto Show. It goes on sale this later this year.

The new Enclave boasts revised front-end styling with LED daytime running lights as well as new high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights and LED accent lighting. A new hood and black-chrome waterfall grille also help to distinguish the 2013 Enclave from previous models, while at the back there's a revised rear end with dual exhaust outlets and LED taillights. 18-inch wheels come standard, and larger 19- or 20-inch wheels are also available for the 2013 model year.

For 2013, the Enclave's expansive cabin now features ice blue LED ambient lighting and a new centre stack that houses an LCD display with touchscreen controls, navigation and an IntelliLink in-vehicle communications system. Other interior features include USB and auxiliary audio input ports, Bluetooth hands-free integration for phone calls, and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. There's even an available 10-speaker Bose audio system that according to Buick has been "optimized for the Enclave's refined interior acoustics."

With regard to vehicle safety, the updated Enclave features StabiliTrak electronic stability control, a standard rearview camera, panic brake assist and a total of seven airbags including a centre airbag that deploys from the inboard side of the driver's seat, inflating between the driver and front passenger. The 2013 Enclave also come equipped with head-curtain airbags that deploy for all three rows of seats. Other notable safety features include a side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert, both of which use radar technology to monitor the driver's blind spots and provide visible and audible alerts in order to help prevent a collision. As was the case before, the 2013 Enclave also comes with an OnStar in-vehicle safety, security and information system which features in-vehicle assistance such as turn-by-turn navigation.

Power is provided by a 3.6-litre V6 engine that churns out 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission and the 2013 Enclave can be had with standard front-wheel-drive or optional all-wheel-drive.

"The 2013 Enclave advances the award-winning design, craftsmanship and technology that reintroduced Buick to a new generation of customers," said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of Buick marketing. "We evolved the interior and exterior design, increased luxury amenities and materials, and engineered purposeful technologies that will make the Enclave continue to resonate with luxury crossover owners."
