First introduced in 2004, the Cadillac SRX luxury crossover sport utility is now in its second generation and receives significant upgrades for 2013. The new SRX is on display at this month's New York International Auto Show and comes equipped with Cadillac's CUE information and entertainment system among its many new features.

For 2013, the SRX sports a new front grille design as well as front fender vents and LED lighting fixtures. Also new for 2013 are a range of 20-inch wheels which include chrome and polished aluminum finishes. The changes continue into the interior with such enhancements as a new steering wheel, instrument cluster and shift knob, standard HD radio, and active noise cancellation that counters ambient noise with equal but opposite sound waves emitted through the vehicle's audio system.

A host of safety technologies for the 2013 SRX include adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, a side blind zone alert, a rear cross traffic alert, a forward collision alert, a lane departure warning system and also automatic front and rear braking to help prevent front and rear low-speed collisions.

Perhaps the most important feature however is the Cadillac User Experience (CUE), which is standard on the 2013 SRX. CUE is Cadillac's information and entertainment system and features an eight-inch LCD touchscreen in the 2013 SRX to allow for control of music, navigation and other media. Cadillac's CUE system also responds to voice commands and can pair up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Like last year's model, power for the 2013 SRX comes from a 3.6-litre direct-injected V6 engine that churns out 308 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the new SRX are available.

"The 2013 SRX illustrates the Cadillac philosophy of never leaving well enough alone," said Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac. "The enhancements for the SRX – including CUE – are examples of how we're developing advanced technologies and pushing them consistently through the Cadillac portfolio. They are also some of the key elements of the all-new XTS luxury sedan and ATS compact sedan, which will expand the Cadillac portfolio this summer."
