The 2013 Dodge Dart is a forthcoming compact sedan based on the Giulietta hatchback from Italian automaker Alfa Romeo. Following its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this past January, Dodge has recently revealed a special edition version of its new compact sedan: the 2013 Dodge Dart "GTS 210 Tribute" show car. The unique GTS 210 Tribute features several performance and appearance accessories from Mopar, the vehicle parts division of Dodge's parent company the Chrysler Group.

As its name implies, the GTS 210 Tribute boasts 210 horsepower. However, the production version can be specified with a choice of engines including a 160 horsepower 2.0-litre engine, a 160 horsepower 1.4-litre turbocharged engine, or a 184 horsepower 2.4-litre engine. Additionally, the production Dart will be available with three transmission choices including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed dual dry clutch transmission (DDCT).

The 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute's bespoke modifications are available in two stages. Stage One is all about the looks as it features a lower chin spoiler, rear spoiler, rear-diffuser panel and side sills all finished in matte black. The GTS 210 Tribute also sports a carbon-fibre hood and 18-inch, 10-spoke forged alloy titanium-coloured wheels.

Inside, the GTS 210 Tribute features a ruby red motif for the Katzkin leather seats, door panels, map-pocket inserts and the centre armrest. Black accent stitching on the seats and armrest contrasts the bright red hues, while black chrome trim adorns the shifter bezel, dash-vent bezels and the cup holder bezel. The instrument cluster cowl reverses the colour scheme with a black suede cover and red contrast stitching, and there's also a ruby red and black leather-wrapped steering wheel.

While Stage One adds cosmetic changes to the Dodge Dart, Stage Two is essentially a performance package that enhances the vehicle with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust kit. Other performance parts include different brake rotors and brake pads for increased stopping power and a larger, adjustable anti-sway system for improved handling.

Although the 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute is a show car, it exhibits the styling and performance accessories available via Mopar. For decades, the compact sedan segment has been maligned for its relatively bland offerings. New entries such as the 2013 Dodge Dart, with its enticing modifications, are helping to quickly change this notion.
