Want your heavy-duty pickup truck with a little more flair? In the lighter duty half-ton arena GMC has been offering a Sierra Denali luxury truck for some time, upstaging the regular Sierra 1500 and Chevy Silverado 1500 models. For 2011, however, a new three-quarter-ton Sierra Denali HD was announced and now GMC has updated that announcement with two more Denali models, a two-wheel drive 2500 and a one-ton 3500 model, the latter available with a standard bed or long bed.

Standard power for all Denali models is GM's 6.0-litre V8 and six-speed automatic transmission, but GMC will upgrade that powerplant with its robust 6.6-litre Duramax turbo-diesel V8 boasting 765 lb-ft of torque, which comes mated to the heavy-duty six-speed Allison automatic. The 6.6 is bio-diesel capable.

The heavy-duty Denali lineup makes a lot of sense, being that truck owners who need a bigger pickup with more power to haul large trailers or even larger fifth-wheel campers want more style and greater comfort too, especially true of mature travelers who enjoy the RV lifestyle but want the flexibility of a truck-trailer setup.
