Honda's new minicar to take emerging markets by storm

Styling sells, a reality that Honda has learned all too well by producing hit after hit, as well as the odd bomb.

The production version of the New Small Concept introduced in New Delhi auto show earlier this year, should be a massive hit when available in emerging markets. It's good looking and at a speculated $10,000 price tag within reach of upwardly mobile Tata Nano drivers.

Honda has chosen the upcoming Thailand International Motor Expo to introduce its latest subcompact creation, a show that is becoming evermore popular for global launches.

The question remains, will the production version be as pretty as the show car? Knowing Honda's history of substituting the word "concept" for what should probably be "prototype," you're probably looking at the real deal minus some aero bodywork, and likely those bits and pieces will be available on a top-line model.

The other question is whether or not we'll see this cute little car in Canada? Honda hasn't even announced production specifications yet, expected when it debuts, so it's impossible to say one way or the other, but the car market is trending towards global products, therefore the reality of a North American-spec version is more possible than ever before.
