The recently-concluded New York International Auto Show played host to several new and updated vehicles from manufacturers all over the world. One of the many vehicles on display was a concept car from Infiniti called the LE Concept. What's perhaps most exciting about this concept vehicle is the fact that Infiniti plans to introduce a production version within the next two years. Like the LE Concept, the production version will be a zero-emissions luxury sedan.

"In a future that holds an increasing consumption of natural resources, we will advance our sustainable mobility leadership and expand our EV market penetration with new electric vehicles such as the Infiniti LE Concept," said Nissan president and CEO Carlos Ghosn. "Infiniti is well positioned to deliver the objectives for a sustainable future, relying on our capable, hard-working and motivated team members around the world. We are a challenger."

The LE Concept's aerodynamic body achieves a drag coefficient of 0.25 and features LED headlights at the front, sweeping creases along the sides and LED taillights at the back along with a rear diffuser. Inside, the LE Concept features LED Infiniti "EV Blue" lighting and seats covered in suede-and-mesh fabric, along with violet and semi-aniline leather accents. In keeping with its luxurious disposition, the LE Concept boast Infiniti Personal Assistant 24-hour concierge service, navigation and POI search.

Peak output from the LE Concept's electric motor is a claimed 134 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque, with energy stored in a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery. Charging the LE Concept is accomplished through the vehicle's charging port. In addition to a DC fast charge option, the LE Concept can also be charged wirelessly. In order to commence wireless charging, the LE Concept uses its Intelligent Park Assist with Around View Monitor to align itself over a floor-mounted wireless charging coil. Once aligned, the LE Concept relies on inductive energy flow, creating a magnetic field which stimulates electric current between a coil in the LE Concept and the floor-mounted coil thus charging the vehicle.

"For those who wonder how a zero emission vehicle like the Infiniti LE Concept will fit into their lifestyles," concluded Ghosn, "the answer is simple: Perfectly. With a range of current and future sustainable vehicles faithful to the Infiniti promise of inspired performance, Infiniti is well positioned for the growing demand for clean, efficient and exciting vehicles. In a rapidly changing world, Infiniti is well ahead of the game."
