If you think that Jaguar's XFR is hot, and it is, check out the latest teaser of the British premium brand's upcoming XFR-S. Granted, it doesn't show much, but the distinctive red, green and chrome R-S badge on the black gloss mesh grille of this specially tuned French Racing Blue painted sport sedan aught to cause the hearts of performance enthusiasts everywhere to skip a beat.

Those sports car fans will already be looking to Jaguar's Los Angeles Auto Show stand to catch sight of the new F-Type roadster, due to make its North American debut there later this month, but for all-out performance this four-door supercar is equally exciting as it will become Jaguar's "the fastest and most powerful saloon Jaguar has ever produced," says a Jaguar press release.

U.S. availability will be limited to 200 vehicles, with an unknown number, albeit much smaller, available here in Canada. The same 550-horsepower supercharged V8 as offered in the XKR-S gets bolted under the XFR-S' elegant hood, which should help Jaguar hold its own against the M5s and E63 AMGs of the world. That engine puts out 502 lb-ft of torque, which is up from 461 in the regular XFR; that model also making 40 fewer horsepower at 510.

Jaguar's six-speed automatic will continue to power the rear wheels, with 100 km/h expected in about four and a half seconds. We should also expect a firmer suspension, more powerful brakes, and various carbon-fibre bits and pieces to save weight while looking cool.
