Lexus announces pricing for 2013 GS sedan

Lexus originally introduced its next-generation 2013 GS luxury sedan at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance back in the summer. As the new GS gets closer to its Canadian debut, Lexus has released the prices of both the base GS 350 rear-wheel-drive model and the GS 350 all-wheel-drive variant as well.

"From its signature spindle grille to its LED brake lamps, the new GS 350 is richly appointed. But we're offering this remarkable new model at the best price in the mid-luxury sedan segment." claimed Larry Hutchinson, Director of Lexus in Canada.

Pricing for the 2013 Lexus GS 350 RWD is set at $51,900 MSRP, which is $2,750 less than the previous entry level GS. The 2013 Lexus GS 350 AWD will start at $54,900 MSRP and includes a whopping $2,810 of additional features when compared to its predecessor.

"While all 2013 GS 350 models offers a tremendous amount of options to build on, we have ensured that our most popular model, the Lexus GS 350 AWD with Navigation Package, also leads the field in pricing," Hutchinson added. "For 2013, the MSRP on this model starts at just $56,800, which is $2,350 less than the 2011 model year while offering $1,320 in additional standard equipment."

Power for the new GS comes from a 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces 306 horsepower. A six speed sequential shift automatic transmission with paddles shifters is mated to the V6. The modern exterior comes adorned with a spindle grille, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, a moonroof and standard 17-inch alloy wheels. Interior amenities include DVD audio and video compatibility, a 5.1 Surround Sound system, an eight-inch central display and even an SMS text-to-speech feature that reads text messages to the driver.

In addition to the base GS 350 RWD and the GS 350 AWD, Lexus will introduce a GS450h hybrid model and a performance-oriented GS F Sport model as well. The 2013 GS 350 is scheduled to go on sale in Canada by the winter of 2012.
