Back in 1914, five brothers who were involved in both building and racing their own creations, decided to found a luxury car manufacturer that still exists today. The company has gone through many owners and undergone many changes over the years, but the original spirit of racing and performance still persists today, now blended with a generous portion of luxury.

The GranTurismo, which first debuted in 2009, is about to come to North America in another form – as a canvas-topped convertible. Better start saving your lunch money and be prepared to eat some Ramen though, because this beautiful piece of kit arrives with a $135,800 USD price tag; Canadian prices have not been announced yet. The GranTurismo Convertible's younger sibling, the GranTurismo coupe, sports at a slightly more modest $117,500 CAD.

first four-seat convertible ever offered by Maserati hides a 4.7L V8 that produces 433hp at 7,000 rpm. This is coupled to a six-speed adaptive automatic transmission that adjusts gear changing and road behavior to the specific driving conditions and the driver's preferences. Once that crazy, white stuff has fully melted from the ground (West Coasters aside), the soft top can answer your call and fully retract in 24 seconds, leaving you to enjoy a warm breeze and musical sound of Maserati's exhaust note.

Dealerships are accepting orders now, but remember to save enough for the set of tailored luggage you can purchase that will match your new soft top.
