Have you checked out Subaru lately? The brand has been adding healthy doses of style and performance to its already well-respected lineup of compact and midsize models. Its gorgeous new BRZ sport coupe is all the rage amongst performance tuners, and cool new XV Crosstrek so hot the Japanese automaker can barely keep any on dealer lots. So what's next on the agenda?

While a new Impreza is on the way, as previewed as the Impreza Design Concept at the Los Angeles auto show late last year, we'll see the entirety of the potentially future crossover SUV shown in this teaser image when it gets revealed on Subaru's Geneva Motor Show stand next month. Is it merely a design exercise for judging public opinion or something real? We'll have to wait and see, but either way the Viziv Concept should raise a few eyebrows when the sheet gets pulled from its backside, and if the future design is indeed a foreshadowing of things to come it'll be a long time before we'll see it in dealer showrooms according to a press release that accompanied the photo.

The Viziv Concept "represents a direction of new designs and new technologies enhancing the Subaru brand into the future," said Subaru, before getting all warm and fuzzy by claiming, "It is a future-generation crossover concept embodying the brand value of 'Enjoyment and Peace of Mind'," whatever that is supposed to mean. The automaker went on to explain the concept's odd but, when capitalized, visually pleasing name, stating "VIZIV" is a "coined word inspired by the phrase 'Vision for Innovation'," that "expresses a future vision for innovation, and a concept car suggesting the brand's direction."

The car itself appears more purposeful than the vaguely obtuse paragraph Subaru came up with to describe its raison d'etre, and unlike so many teaser images this one shows a front three-quarter view that's bright and clear with much of the Viziv Concept exposed, making it easy to make out the more elemental aspects of its design. A bold hexagonal grille integrates five matte black strakes for a sporty appearance, flanked by massive angular LED horseshoe-shaped headlight clusters. The chiseled theme continues across the hood, down the fenders and roofline, with fender lines that follows the headlight's outer edge around an edgy set of alloy wheels, and upwards past triangular mirror caps to finalize in a yet unknown rear end design. The Viziv Concept's styling is cleaner and simpler than the Impreza Design Concept's somewhat complicated detailing, although to be fair the Impreza show car appeared a bit overdone for the sake of masking its true production-ready identity.

The Viziv Concept will make its world debut on the morning of March 5. Stay tuned for more photos and details.
