Oh, for a snow day... ...to watch Mr. Dressup. ...to spend an hour nagging Mom to go outside, spend 15 minutes bundling up, and then asking to come back in after five minutes of blowing snow on the cheeks. ...to eat mother-made Chef Boyardee, Campbell's Soup, Kraft Dinner, or peanut butter sandwiches on homemade bread for lunch. ...to whine of being completely bored after Sesame Street ended. ...to row with siblings over the Atari or record player, an argument over playing Asteroids and KISS Alive II at the same time. ...to ask your mother questions like Whats a bill? after the mailman trudges through the snow-covered driveway and puts a pile of envelopes in the box. ...to successful search for the hidden junkfood left over from Christmas and eat the works of it without being caught. ...to grimace at the theme from Edge Of Night. ...to go sliding in Murphys Field when the weather cleared in the afternoon, or to build elaborate systems of snow tunnels and forts. ...to be a kid again.
