[Professional Blog] Led Zeppelin coming to St. John's for Junos

Published on November 30, -1

Never got tickets to the Juno Awards? Youre going to be completely rotted. Juno organizers will announce today that Led Zeppelin is reuniting to play two songs during the April 18 awards show at Mile One Centre in St. Johns. The performances will commemorate legendary Canadian performances by the supergroup at Montreal and Ottawa 40 years ago on April 13 and April 14, 1970. We gave everyone a big hint last year when Great Big Sea closed the Juno show with an untraditional performance of Led Zeppelins Gallows Pole, said a source close to the organizers. Zeppelin really wanted to thank Canada and Canadians for all their support over the years. And the shows in Montreal and Ottawa 40 years ago remain some of the bands most memorable. Robert Plant says the raucous audience at those shows makes him smile almost daily. OK, if you believe Zeppelins coming, youre an April fool in the rain. Thats right, April Fools. I made this up. Now that I got your attention and ire keep checking this blog in the lead-up to Junos and during Juno week. Therell be lots of discussion about Canadian music in the days before the event and live blogging constant updates of news and scuttlebutt from April 12 to 18. I want you, the reader, to participate in the discussions and to send along items you think people should Ju-know, like if youre eating lunch next to Jimmy Page at Chess ;) Send along a comment and youll have a chance to win some Juno swag. TTYL.
