[Professional Blog] Short run today and it felt good

Published on November 30, -1

I was thinking I was going to have to work out inside today with the horrible start to the weather this morning, luckily the weather turned around. After some longer runs I took it a little easy this evening and only ran the lake. My strategy tonight was to run faster than I had in the past and see what my pace was in the end. I improved my pace over other runs which were longer but I could not keep the speed up. I notice on the runkeeper http://runkeeper.com/user/GerryCarew/profile that I started strong with my speed but it was really hard to keep it up. I was surprised because I knew I was only going to run half the distance of my previous few runs. Anyway I am only 7 runs into my training so I look for a really big improvement in a couple of weeks. I know the improvement will be gradual so I am not expecting this all to happen overnight but I look forward to comparing the first run to the 20th for example.
