If you havent voted for Harbour Grace for Hockeyville at least a hundred times by now, once youve finished here, surf over to CBCs Hockeyville website and start clicking. And if youre still looking for reasons to vote for the Conception Bay community and its home of Hockey, S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium, check this out. The good folks in Harbour Grace have been tireless in their bid to win the title and all the perks that come along with it, so much so theyve set up a voting centre at the firehall where anyone can drop in, dial up the toll free number and cast their ballot. Theyve even offered up some tips on how to vote more effectively using one of the three methods; online, text and traditional 1-866. For online voting, they recommend downloading and using a browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) called Google Chrome. It uses of your computers resources and remembers information you insert in a field. Its important when voting online to wait until you see the vote confirmation page before voting again. For the text-savvy voter, first and foremost, know your text plan. If its not unlimited you may want to consider a different method rather than get dinged for 150 text messages at the end of the month. Voting by text (to 222111 reading VOTE HARBOUR GRACE) is the fastest way to vote by simply re-sending the text without having to retype your vote. Like online, once you get a response that confirms your vote is accepted, you can fire off another one... or 200. Finally, when voting by phone to 1-866-533-8066, write down the number prompts for easier reference on concurrent calls... and again wait for confirmation of your vote before hanging up and redialing. Voting began Saturday night at 12:30 local time and continues until Wednesday, Mar. 4 at 1:30 a.m. The Hockeyville team in Harbour Grace believe, based on previous years results, theyll need roughly 3 million votes to win. So if youre a Breakers fan, a Wave fan, heck, even a card carrying Langdon supporter, so show your support and vote now and vote often.
