I can't believe I missed it! Yesterday, with an hour to kill between meetings, I drove out the Battery Road and took a hike out the Signal Hill trail to get a look at that iceberg, just outside the Narrows. I got some decent photos and enjoyed a lovely cool breeze, along with those magnificent views. Then last night, I turn on Here & Now and hear that the same iceberg had cracked in half with a loud boom and almost completely disintegrated. It must have been an amazing thing to behold... and I had missed it by just a couple of hours. Blast the luck! Either way, I still captured a pretty good photo of the iceberg in its final moments and, since you will never see it again, am posting it here for your viewing pleasure. Note: You can view the entire Here & Now newscast which contains this item up until about 7:00 pm tonight (when it is replaced by the next day's show) at the CBC web site.
