Yesterday morning, Jeff Gilhooly of the CBC Radio Morning Show interviewed Emir Andrews of Portugal Cove, who had a complaint about the cover of last weeks Newfoundland Herald.
Apparently, the magazine featured a four-leaf clover on the cover of its St. Patricks Day edition, instead of the traditional shamrock which has three leaves.
Ms. Andrews went on at some length about how there was indeed a difference, and anyone with any knowledge of St. Patricks Day should know better. Gilhooly closed the item by saying he had spoken with Mark Dwyer, editor of The Herald, who allowed that this had happened before and promised never to let it happen again.
Ho-hum.
The matter is so trivial that, I swear, I wouldnt mention it at all. Except.
