Peter Walsh moving on to next assignment
Peter Walsh has resigned from Out of the Fog, on Rogers TV.
Walsh joined the show in July of 2009, as co-host and Senior producer, working with Erin Sulley. They worked well together, and were polished, professional and entertaining.
However, I heard last night that Walsh was departing from the program. I sent a message to inquire, and received the following, very brief, confirmation:
“Yes, you have heard correctly,” Walsh wrote. “I recently submitted my resignation. I finish my time here at the end of the month. In the new year I will be pursuing a new opportunity. Other than that I don’t have any comment.”
I replied, asking if he was pursuing another media opportunity, in print or broadcast – or of he was even staying in the province. Walsh didn’t reply, so I suspect that whatever lies ahead is still a private matter, between himself and his next employer.
Here’s Walsh’s biography, as it currently appears on the ‘Out of the Fog’ web site:
Peter Walsh approaches his roles as co-host and Senior Producer of Out of the Fog with energy, tenacity and professionalism. This St. John’s native is a natural born journalist. His inquisitive nature and talent for asking the right questions has led him into a successful career as an investigative reporter. In fact, Peter’s work has received recognition regionally, nationally and internationally with numerous nominations and awards, including a Gemini and a New York International Film Festival Award. Peter is also a television production instructor with Memorial University’s Diploma in Performance and Communications Media program, of which Rogers TV is a valued partner.
