Briefing Note

[Professional Blog] Danny Williams at the St. John's Board of Trade

Published on October 22, 2012

Alright, I’m only just back to the office now, and I’ve still got plenty of transcribing and writing to do. But here’s the full audio from former premier Danny Williams’ speech to the St. John’s Board of Trade today.

My apologies for the audio quality. This is from my hand-held digital voice recorder just picking up the ambient sound in the room, so it’s not top notch, but you can hear out what he has to say just fine. (As an ink-stained wretch of a newspaper reporter, basic audio is all I need to transcribe interviews for print. My gear and methods haven’t entirely graduated into the 21st century.)

This is still the first time I've done this, and it's a bit of an experiment, so I've got two different ways for you to listen to the audio. I'm going to try to work the kinks out, maybe improve the audio quality, and if possible, I hope to post a lot more of the interviews, scrums and speeches I cover in Newfoundland and Labrador politics.

Here's a link to the audio hosted by The Telegram: http://www.thetelegram.com/media/flying/4136/DannyAtBoT.mp3

And here's the same audio hosted over on SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/telegramjames/danny-williams-at-the-st-johns

Hope you enjoy listening to it, and a full story will be in the newspaper Tuesday morning. Be sure to check it out.
