Has Jim Bennett gone rogue already?

Did Jim Bennett break the rules the very instant he started his leadership campaign? You be the judge.

Here’s a picture of Jim Bennett launching his campaign to be leader of the Newfoundland and Labrador Liberal Party. (http://i.imgur.com/I13jop5.jpg) It was posted on Twitter by his wife, Sandra Pupatello. Take a close look at those signs behind him.

Now, here’s the text of Sec. 3.09 of the 2013 Leadership Election Rules drawn up by the Liberal Party:

“3.09 The NLLP (Newfoundland and Labrador Liberal Party) logo, trademarks and any other official mark duly owned and/or utilized by the NLLP shall not be utilized by any Candidate as part of his/her campaign.”

I’m not saying Bennett is breaking the rules, but when I saw the picture, I certainly thought he might be. And at least one other person on Twitter thought so too. You be the judge.

Where on the signs does it say they belong to the NLLP. What are you talking about James. In any event, what is the point of running for the Liberal Party of Newfoundland if you could not use their signs ?.
