Ward 2 Candidate Jonathan Galgay is calling on the City of St. John’s to work closely with Metrobus and private taxi companies in addressing concerns related to municipal Para Transit. Galgay acknowledges that the current GoBus system is an effective means of transportation, but more is needed.

Galgay is calling on Metrobus to utilize its wheelchair ramps which many City busses are equipped with, to better serve residents with disabilities, and families with young children.

In addition, Galgay is calling for greater partnerships with private taxi companies to present options for accessible transportation for those who choose to use taxi services.  Providing more options for residents is paramount given the high demand on current services.

Galgay recently met with Cecil Whitten, Chair of the St. John’s Para Transit Advisory Committee, and current Councillor at Large Candidate to discuss this very important issue. “Cecil and I strongly believe that any enhancements to the Para Transit system would greatly benefit residents who utilize these services”.
