Liberal leadership in Gander

OK folks, as I promised on Twitter yesterday, here's the raw audio from Thursday night's Liberal leadership debate in Gander.

I've posted the two files to Google Drive. Just click the links below to download them. My apologies in advance for two things. First, I know this isn't streaming like last time, but Drive was a quick and dirty way of getting the files online remotely. If anybody has suggestions for cheap, easy solutions for hosting big audio files, let me know. In the meantime, this will have to do.

Second, the sound quality may not be perfect throughout. I wasn't plugged into the sound system, because that would've meant hanging out right at the back of the auditorium. My recorder was sitting atop a pile of TV cables on the stage, aimed at a big speaker that was about a metre away, so hopefully the audio is good enough to at least hear what was going on. (I haven't had the time to listen back through the whole thing yet, so I can't vouch for the audio quality throughout.)

That's about it for now, I guess. I may be doing some more blogging on the Liberal leadership later, but for right now, I'll leave it to you to listen to the tapes and draw your own conclusions.

Here's Part 1 of the debate:

And here's Part 2 of the debate picking up after the intermission:

Glad Dumaresque got these debates going. People are talking about the liberals again.

I agree with Jm - really good debate. I thought 4 candidates did well - C.Bennett could not hold her own and that was a common opinion after the debate finished. Overall I am happy as a party member to see the exposure.

I must say I was impressed with the quality of this debate. The moderator did a great job, and I thought all candidates did very well. You would have to go back many years in Newfoundland to have a similar public debate of such a high caliber among politicians. The moderator was excellent, and the format provided a voice to all. They are 5 strong candidates.
