There are few bonds stronger than father and son. Of all the relationships that swirl about the family nucleus, the father-son relationship is one of the most treasured and time-honored. It is a relationship characterized by the passage of knowledge, wisdom, and love, from elder to younger as they explore the world and all its many mysteries. Joshua’s father, Paul, teaches him all about the world around him and the beauty that can be found within nature. Joshua's father is much more than a teacher to his son, he is his best friend.

Seventeen year old Joshua is a pretty active guy. He’s an outdoor enthusiast enthralled with hunting, nature hikes, and skiing. Joshua is also an athlete – a medalist in fact. His bowling team won bronze at the 2014 NL Winter Games. He keeps quite active in a host of Special Olympic activities as well. Joshua is a warm-hearted, genuine people person keeping friends and family at the centre of his life, most specifically his dad, Paul. Paul is Joshua’s role model and the man who encourages Joshua to challenge himself every day. In turn, Joshua inspires, not just his dad, but everyone he meets.

“The whole A. Harvey Group of Companies is looking forward to being able to grant Joshua his wish,” says Juleah Patten, Sales: Foodservice, with Browning Harvey and three time Exile Island veteran. “Exile Island is an event we are proud to support and look forward to being "Exiled" in September. We are going to make Joshua proud! While only 5 participants will be taking part on the event day, the whole A. Harvey organization kicks in and helps raise funds through BBQ's, raffles, and we are going to host a Mini-Golf Tournament early September at Sir Admiral John's Adventure Golf! On Exile Island, September 26th, we are looking forward to a fun-filled day of healthy competition, lots of laughs, and many tears all for a great cause!

Joshua lives with cerebral palsy and has one insatiable wish – a holiday to Sea World in Orlando, Florida, with his parents; Colleen and Paul.
