Building Communities, Building Memories

Whatever your mind can create you can build it from Lego. A child’s limitless imagination can create whole Lego cities to explore, long extinct animals to rediscover, and move through time and space to play in places past, future, and present. Much like a wish, the possibilities are endless. They are as unique as the child themselves and range from trips to magical places, a much desired item, or meeting with a person whom the child cherishes.

Conner is your typical, active 7-year-old kid. He loves to play lots of video games and hang out with friends. Conner has an insatiable passion for everything Lego — building with them and watching Lego movies. Maybe playing with Legos has inspired Conner to want to build a better community. You see Conner wants to become a police officer, firefighter or EMT when he grows up. Perhaps he feels inspired to help others the same way others are helping him fight acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

“Knowing that our efforts as a group can change the life of a child for the better is quite an amazing feeling and accomplishment,” says Sean Power, marketing associate with Provincial Airlines. “Each year we absolutely want to be a part of Exile Island. This will be our fourth year competing and we are very excited to get back on the island to compete for bragging rights against other businesses and continue to help grant wishes to sick children in our communities.”

“Our company participates in hundreds of events throughout the year, but Exile Island always holds a special place in our hearts. We will be hosting our second annual PAL Kite Festival, with all proceeds of the event going towards our minimum fundraising goal of $10,000 to grant Connor’s Wish. ‎The PAL Kite Festival will take place in Bowring Park on Sept. 6 from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.”

“On the day of Exile Island, Sept. 26, we expect a lot of exciting competition between all the tribes. Most of all we will have fun and enjoy the fact all the teams combined efforts will help so many children throughout the province.”

Conner’s fondest wish is a Disney Cruise — an escape on a magical journey that will build wonderful memories for Conner and his family.

You can help grant more wishes like Conner’s.
