Eastern Health paramedic Ray Verge tends to the female driver of a Ford Ranger Edge after she was struck by a Toyota Corolla CE at the intersection of Smallwood Drive and Commonwealth Avenue Wednesday morning. To allow easier access for a stretcher, St. John's Regional Fire Department firefighter Ronnie Pomeroy of the Mount Pearl fire station shovelled snow from the embankment. The other driver was also taken to hospital.
