As the top athletes from across the globe converge on Vancouver and Whistler for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Newfoundland and Labrador McDonald's employees Deanne Lynch (Grand Falls-Windsor), Craig Wicks (Grand Falls-Windsor Wal-Mart) and Hazel Charlton (Gander Wal-Mart), will travel there as members of McDonald's Olympic Champion Crew.
The central Newfoundland employees have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the Games first-hand by serving the world's best athletes, Olympic officials and media. They will work at any one of the three on-site McDonald's restaurants in the athletes villages (in Vancouver and Whistler) and the main media centre.
The Olympic Champion Crew are selected from the 77,000 McDonald's Canadian employees for excellence in teamwork and customer service.
The selected workers will receive round-trip flights to Vancouver and on-site accommodation. The three will also attend a select Olympic event and participate in recreational, sightseeing and cultural activities.
