Health Minister Paul Oram says the new health clinic in Flower's Cove will contain holding bed capacity to enable 24-hour operation as is currently provided.
Oram said he decided to reverse an earlier decision to cut that capacity to 12 hours after meeting with regional officials.
"We continue to carefully examine programming and design options for the new facility in Flower's Cove," Oram said. "As a result of this work and discussions with area residents, municipal leaders, MHAs and cabinet, we have decided to continue to provide 24 hours of care at this facility."
There will be no change to the decision on lab and X-ray services as announced on Aug. 31. That announcement stated that laboratory and X-ray services for residents in the Flower's Cove area will be provided at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. Blood collection services will continue in Flower's Cove.
