St. John's International Airport Authority has announced the line-up for its third annual Christmas concert series.
Featuring school choirs and professional musicians, the concerts started today and will run until Dec. 23.
During the lunch hour until Dec. 21, school choirs will do half-hour performances in front of the 25 foot Christmas tree in the atrium of the airport terminal Building.
Local musicians and carolers will also perform throughout the terminal daily from Dec. 18 to 23.
The series concludes 12:30 p.m. Dec. 23 - one of the busiest travel days of the year - with a performance by the Quintessential Vocal Ensemble.
"This is an event that, over the last two years, has been very positively received by the audiences that have enjoyed the Christmas music," said Keith Collins, president and CEO of the St. John's International Airport Authority, in a release.
The current schedule for school choirs is as follows:
· Dec. 10 - Holy Cross Junior High;
· Dec. 11 - Vanier Elementary;
· Dec. 15 - St. Bonaventure's College;
· Dec. 16 - St. Bonaventure's College;
· Dec. 18 - MacDonald Drive Elementary;
· Dec. 21- Virginia Park Elementary.
