The Gala is just one small part of the Junos. I was in Halifax when they hosted the Junos in 2006. There were concerts and events all over town, many of them free. St. John's is lucky to be hosting the Junos and the less cynical among us will have a chance to see some great established and up-and-coming artists. The rest of you can stay home and watch American idol.

this crowd from up along wants us to buy 2000 tickets at an amazing cost per ticket to subsidize the 4000 mainland bums in the seats. i say boycott and on that night go catch a local band at a local pub. let the mainlanders wallow in their self importance.

Sorry, but we pay to purchase the CD's and attend concerts that these so called artist put on as our support. To be forced to PAY yet again to award them seems too much like the Harper Plan of triple dipping. Rather than paying for CD's people should just download the tracks and not pay, then pay to attend these events. Let the industry pay for this, the customers have been paying long enough.

If the price is too steep then simply stay home and watch it on TV, that is your decision to make. I do not understand why you have to be so negative otherwise. People in NL always complain about the lack of entertainment and when they have an opportunity the same people complain about the costs. It's 2010 people and entertainments costs of today are jacked around the globe, unfortunately.

Secondly: I am a proud Newfoundlander who is living 'up along' and at times I am embarrassed of the attitude and disrespect some NLers show to their fellow countrymen. I have come to realize however , that most people with this unhealthy attitude have never been off The Island or outside of Gambo.

Ruckus On The Edge...what an idiotic title. I guess because it is in NL we have to have some form of ...the Rock, or the edge, or some other innane nonsence. I mean Ruckus? Isn't that waht goes on down on George Street after they throw the drunken newfies out the door?
They would never use a title like that in Vancouver, or Toronto, but here, where the newfies live you have to dumb it down a bit. It's almost as stupid as the picture plant logo...almost.

$189 a head. Much public money going into a show for the wealthy. All other information is window dressing.
