The Council of Independent Community Pharmacy Owners (CICPO) and Medavie Blue Cross announced Tuesday they have reached a tentative agreement.
The agreement follows negotiations over the weekend regarding contract terms between the insurance plan manager and the independent providers.
Phil O'Keefe, director of third party relations for CICPO, said "We must now seek ratification from our members for the process to be complete - which we expect by week's end."
Laurier Fecteau, senior vice-president of Medavie Blue Cross, said "Medavie Blue Cross is pleased that we have reached a tentative agreement with a new payment schedule with independent pharmacies across Newfoundland and Labrador."

Perhaps the pharmacy should be spending more time getting medicine to Haiti than playing rich games with lawyers.
Where are these rich pharmacy's when people in need are out there??????

Wow Gerald!!! Try sleeping on the other side of the bed tonight buddy. I wonder if you have taken time off from your job to help the people of Haiti, as this is what you are essentially asking of these rich folks. I am sure many of the independent pharmacies have made generous contributions to the Haiti relief effort. I have to shake my head sometimes at how quick we are to negatively criticize our own people in this province.
