The Centre for Marine CNG Inc. has a new name.

With the approval of its board of directors at a Feb. 15 annual general meeting, the centre has been rebranded as Propel Inc., with a focus on Applied Energy Research.

The name is meant to be more reflective of the companys vision for the future with a motivation to be more relevant to the local oil and gas community, while symbolizing the intent to thrust the company forward. Propel Inc. will focus on applied energy research projects to serve the local oil and gas industry.

Craig Young of Propel said Propel, already having a five-year successful track record of delivering R&D projects to international clients, will be expanding its service to be more relevant to the local oil industry.

We have had great success in delivering projects for international clients said Young. However, we wanted to become more relevant to the local oil and gas industry, which was always our goal. We have been approached to fill a need for some of the local operators, and we are responding to that request.
