Cavendish, P.E.I. -

Officials with Ripley's Believe It or Not are in P.E.I. to visit the site where they buried a sperm whale that washed ashore 21 years ago.
Thom MacMillan, owner of the Ripley's franchise in Cavendish, says he wants to put the whale's skeleton on display - but that won't happen unless most of the whale's flesh is gone.
The 11-metre, 20-tonne whale washed ashore in 1989.
Ripley's bought it and buried it to allow nature to strip the carcass - a process that has taken longer than expected.
Although MacMIllan knows the whale was buried in the Hamilton area, he is seeking help from locals because no one took a GPS reading of its exact location.
The plan is to dig a test hole to check the bones Tuesday.

Hopefully this isn't the Blue Whale skeleton they're looking for.

The Blue whale is an animal while the Sperm whale is a mammal!! They probably know the difference! LOL And if they didn't they would have googled it like I did!! :-)

I once tried to cut some teeth out of a sperm whales mouth down by Seal cove (22 years ago or so) and the smell was SO BAD that I nearly choked on my vomit and it was relatively fresh.
