A search and rescue effort is ongoing in the Gander area, after two men were tipped out of the boat they were fishing from.
The two men were setting salmon nets when the eight-foot open boat capsized Friday evening. One fisherman quickly made it to shore, but the other got tangled in the anchor line, causing the boat to capsize, and was pulled under.
A search was almost immediately launched for the 45-year-old man.
A Cormorant Helicopter from Gander was called off from the small search area in Dog Bay this morning, but the coast guard is continuing the search in a fast rescue craft and the RCMP is looking at bringing in a dive team.
Maj. James Simiana of the joint rescue task force, says the situation is still designated a search and rescue effort, but concedes that it's looking more like a recovery effort as time goes on.

If you're using an 8 foot boat to drop a few salmon nets it should be a zodiac type.
When working around netting and anchor lines you are better off carrying a safety knife, tethered to your body so it's with you at all times. You never know when you'll need it.
