Wade William Hart, 44, of Horwood in the Hamilton Sound area of Notre Dame Bay has been identified as the victim of a drowning on the weekend when his boat overturned and he could not make it safely to shore.
RCMP recovered the fisherman's body about 7 p.m. Saturday. He had gone overboard after apparently getting tangled in the boat's anchor line.
Another fisherman on the small boat managed to swim to shore.
The two had been setting salmon nets a small bay known as Dog Bay.
Major James Simiana of the rescue co-ordination centre in Halifax said the survivor told officials the other man was tossing the anchor when his leg got tangled in the line.
Simiana says the man was pulled overboard and the boat overturned.
RCMP divers, a Cormorant helicopter and a coast guard fast-rescue craft were involved in the search.
