RNC Const. Sharon Warren selected as International Association of Women Police officer of the year

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary announced today that Const. Sharon Warren was recently selected as the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) 2010 Officer of the Year.
According to a news release, Warren was selected for this prestigious honour from a field of nominees from around the world.
The Officer of the Year award recognizes police officers whose career in policing distinguishes themselves in the areas of leadership, community service, mentoring and excellence in performance.
Warren will accept her award at an awards ceremony to be held at the annual IAWP fall training conference in Minneapolis, Minn., Monday, Sept. 27, to be attended by approximately 500 delegates from more than 48 countries.
A 22-year veteran of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Warren has been a criminal investigator for the last 12 years and is currently assigned to the Major Crime Unit.

    This is really remarkable to be selected out of so many international recipients. Nfld should feel proud to be so honored.This is no easy selection and one given great scrutiny by well serviced and knowledgable professionals.
