RCMP in Baie Verte have confirmed that just after 2 p.m. today the body of a second kayaker reported missing Saturday has been found by Coast Guard officials near Eastern Island.
The body of a 63-year-old Michigan man has been taken to Gander for further examination. The RCMP say they believe he succumbed to the cold/ wet environment.
The family of this man and his friend, who was rescued, have been notified. His friend, another Michigan native, continued to search with Coast Guard officials until the man's body was found.

If your kayaking in the icy cold water around here and you're not that good at it, you are better off wearing a wet suit.

Incase you missed the earlier posting on this incident, both men were experienced kayakers and the man was wearing a semi-dry suit as well as a life jacket. Perhaps you should go back and read the earlier post.

Sincere condolences go out to this man's family and friends.
