The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a female suspect who is is alleged to have made multiple fraudulent purchases with a stolen credit card.
On May 13, an unidentified female broke into a vehicle in the area of Gil Eannes Drive in St. John's stealing numerous articles, including a ladies purse containing a credit card.
Within the next eight minutes, the suspect then proceeded to make purchases at three separate businesses in the area of Topsail Road in St. John's. The suspect then attempted to make additional purchases, but was unsuccessful when the card was reported stolen.
The RNC has released video surveillance in an attempt to identify the suspect.
Anyone who may have information regarding the offence or the identity of the female suspect is asked to contact the RNC by calling 729-8000.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary would like to remind the public to refrain from leaving valuables in their vehicles and advise businesses they are permitted to ask consumers for an additional piece of identification, when making purchases with credit cards.
