Congratulatins Mr. Penney. I have goten to know quite a few local business people over the years. Most, if not all, are blessed with great personalities - even charm - which is no doubt in great part the reason for their success. But of those, I can count on one hand the number that I would trust with a 25 cent piece. In some cases, I doubt their own mothers would. Ches is a very tough, practical businessman but having had the opportunity to watch him up close a few times, he is clearly not lacking in integrity. I don't know whether he will pass that 'eye of the needle test', but as businesmen go I think he is exceptionally honest, forthright, fair and reasonable. The other thing I can say about him is that he is not full of himself. Lest anyone think this is damming with faint praise, you have no idea of the extent to which greed, arrogance, and sleaze are the most common traits of the businessman so often singled out for such awards. I'm not talking about the small business people, most of whom punch a 16 hour day just to survive - but the ones who walk around with politicians in their back pockets and who will use every trick in the book, in order to make an extra buck.
