what a joke about shortage of workers and apprentices look at long harbour. Companies that are not keeping up to the quota of how many apprentices are to be hired. Skilled workers who came back who got a week or two so why would more workers come back to leave a good job in alberta for a week. We don't have a shortage, government needs too look at what is really going on, how many contracts will the government award this year, is it in the contracts that they must hire a apprentice ? The big mega projects are union with skilled workers coming from these unions have government checked with them to see if the quota of apprentices is been up kept with the companies?

I was just reading that Telegram item on the hebron and I saw that it mentioned a skilled labor shortage in Newfoundland. What type of skilled labor and why haven't they put the word out to the newfoundlanders that have moved away? Just wondering thats all because I spent approximately 6 months trying to find out what was needed and where to apply and I finally gave up because of the run around I was getting. ..

Is the chairman Mr. Ayre the same gentleman who caused the bankruptcy of a century-old family business? I know he was once running the Telegram?
