I'm very happy for his offering to create something interesting publication wise in Newfoundland. However, this cover is a disaster, I'm sorry. If this is any indication as to how your content will be organized and look, then you need to get a different designer. I can name a list of things that are visually bad design from viewing this small image of your cover. If you have interviews with people who are relevant to a younger market (the Biebs, Degrassi), you have some sort of entertainment content to offer which could be really interesting and separate Newfoundland from a lot of crap out there—if it's used well. But you need to hire someone professional to create your layout and refine your images, if this cover is any indication to the rest of your magazine. There are even 3rd and 4th year students that sometimes take on projects and could help you out. Put an add on Kijiji. I'm not trying to sound mean, I support Michael 100% but this is just really bad design. Good Luck!

Misspelling 'vixen' for no reason, and a soft porn skin mag in the age of the internet....shrewd! Call up Hugh Hefner and have a chat, pal. Oh well, where's his 'Hibernia grant'....?

Oh Well...you've learned to BSoh so very well. Wonder were that skill was honed. You want to give back? "We’re always looking for different artists, actors, models and stuff,” “I just want to be able to give something back to Newfoundland,” Gag...If the animal print crotch huging dress next to you in the pic is one of your protégé. God help what your giving back to NL. Create a magazine with your ACOA funding and publishing grant but have a vision beyond the showing of skin. You claim it is a fashion magazine you presented yourself at the opening as a skin magazine. There is a lovely business woman in town who does image counseling, you can get funding for for that too. See if she can get you to see how to not offend women by making the ones who work for you look un-ready for the camera. Image is what you are selling.Notice that even Hugh has classy looking companions at his side in press pics. GET A MENTOR OR AN ADVISOR I'd love to see you suceed.
