A BILLION dollar project! Please give this crap a rest. Such statements mislead people into thinking that NL is getting that amount of money from this project, which is utter nonsense. A forensic audit into legal expenses, lost income tax revenues due to non-resident employees, questionnable use of CNA management time, and many other monetary and non-monetary issues might show the project to be far less attractive than President Vaughan proposes. It also might get certain politicians back to working for our real "tax-payers".

I TOTALLY AGREE with the comment that... The current PC government meddling and the mismanagement by the new CNA president has brought the place to a new low!!!! Seems like Ms. Kathy Dunderdale & CNA President Ann Marie Vaughan are both tarred with the same brush, they haven't got a clue what is going on within their own surroundings and their misunderstanding of how things are done/ran has now cost a lot of the CNA staff's lives/families to be turned upside down and all this is because of MISMANAGEMENT & the fact that both women haven't got a clue how things are ran....Pam Walsh was a much better President & that is probably why govt got rid of her!!!!

@Neville Green, Starr is correct. Dr. Ken McLeod is very accessible to employees and is very much an 'on campus' president. There are issues, but his availability is not one of them.

Yes, he will stop all day to speack to us in cordialities. But he promised us an employment survey for over three years and guess what - nothing. His newsletters are complete fluff and simply an attempt to put a positive spin on art shows and other meaningless events. Also, he will not discuss any real issues around contract or champion us to CNA. He also hasn't held a a single auditorium question and answer session since the has been hired. Don't get me wrong, I like him but really he has sold his soul like the rest of them here. He is a puppet.

@Neville green - It may be true that CNA management come to CNA-Q and do not meet with employees and are not see around campus, but the President of CNA-Q is quite visible on campus and is very approachable and available.

I agree - he is a nice man but he is a complete figurehead and tells us as much. He is not a President in any real sense of the word. He writes his cutesy newsletters, draws his big paycheque and in private lets us know he disagrees with CNA's treatment of us. But he too is afraid to step up cuz 'Hes been told". The other leaders in Qatar are exactly that same but they are pretty well invisible. Its a good gig I was told, don't rock the boat. This is not a real College.

Why can't they cut back on the millions that they pay to law firms in St. John' s and Qatar? With the money they have wasted on lawyers(covering up for Management corruption) they could have opened the CNA Law School by now. The PC Government let the Qataris throw Canadian values out the window for the desperate hope they might finance Muskrat Falls or other ventures. What a mess.

I was in Qatar for many years. The employees there did everything they could to make the College a reputable place of learning. The current PC government meddling and the mismanagement by the new CNA president has brought the place to a new low. There are so many examples of destruction and deliberate attacks on employees that it cannot be saved. I don't know why the State does not take it over once and for all.

Agreed, the entire campus in Qatar is run by a small group of minions and puppets from a tiny office in Stephenville. They make decisions from 7,000 miles away and never meet with anyone in Qatar when they are there. The project manager has never met with any employees, neither has the CNA President or even the so called President of CNAQ. They come to Qatar unannounced, hiding their presence when they do. They will be here again in a few days for the JOB meeting. Once again, they will skulk around, avoiding people and then scurrying like rats back to the airport. Its despicable what they are doing to the once wonderful school. I call on the CNA President to meet with us in a general assembly when she comes over here. Just once, I would like to see her face the employees whose lives she is destroying.

AMV is still touting the old line about the value of the contract. This is what has been spent in Qatar not what CNA has gotten from the project. Meanwhile, the puppet masters at CNA are destroying the lives of employees in Qatar daily with their remote heavy handed management. They have thrown away all their Canadian values in their greed over this project. It is a textbook case in curuption, greed, mismanagement, government interference and arrogance. Sound familiar?
