Unusual pressure buildup in truck under investigation
The Telegram has confirmed what one worker described as a “little incident” earlier Monday in the area where trucks are loaded with fuel at Come By Chance.
The site is separate from the main workings of the Come By Chance refinery.
“It was when they were loading — the hatches lifted up on the truck,” said refinery spokeswoman Gloria Warren-Slade, when asked this afternoon about the incident.
The lifting was due to pressure building up inside the truck, she said.
No one was injured.
“The truck-loading facility is shut down because we don’t know why it happened,” Warren-Slade said.
The refinery otherwise remains in normal operation.
The investigation at the truck loading facility is expected to continue at least until tomorrow.
