Innovation Week began Monday in St. Johnâ€™s with local business leaders, provincial industry associations and public-sector partners joining forces to highlight innovation advances being made in the province. Part of Mondayâ€™s events included a question-and-answer session regarding startups, entrepreneurs and innovation with a panel of experienced entrepreneurs and investors. Taking part (from left) are Gordon Freedman, of Freedman Equity Rewarded, of Ottawa, Ont., an entrepreneur, lawyer, and patent and trademark agent; Patrick Keefe of Halifax, N.S. vice-president of Innovacorp; Dan Martell of Moncton, N.B., founder of Clarity, a platform that helps entrepreneurs source phone consultations; Mark Kennedy of St. Johnâ€™s who co-founded Celtx, a software and services company for the media creation industry.
