“At Astaldi Canada, the health and safety of our workers is — and always will be — our top priority,” said Matthew Pike, manager of external relations for Astaldi Canada in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, in an email to The Labradorian late this afternoon.
“This was demonstrated by our actions today to immediately stop work after a near miss incident. No workers were injured and to ensure this remains the case, we are currently meeting with all staff to re-emphasize the importance of a safe workplace.
Pike reiterated the health and safety of the workers is — and always will be — top priorit.
“These meetings will continue until a time we are confident we can resume work safely,” said Pike.
