Premier Danny Williams will host a luncheon in New York Monday to promote Newfoundland and Labrador's trade and investment opportunities.
Williams will be joined in New York by Natural Resources Minister Kathy Dunderdale and Nalcor Energy president and CEO Ed Martin.
"It is important that we promote Newfoundland and Labrador abroad and create awareness about the innovative technology, projects and trade opportunities available in our province," Williams said. "We will showcase Newfoundland and Labrador as a prospective location for investment and focus specifically on our province's potential as a long-term producer of competitive and reliable green energy through the Lower Churchill project."
New York-based energy companies, utilities, government leaders, energy regulators, the financial sector and business media have been invited to the luncheon to learn more about Newfoundland and Labrador's robust economic performance and investment opportunities in the energy and industrial sectors.
"We are delivering our message directly into the US market about our ability to provide clean energy solutions that will assist jurisdictions in meeting climate change targets for carbon reduction," Williams said.
The luncheon will be co-hosted by the Canadian Consulate in New York, and will take place at 12:30 p.m. eastern time at the Hilton New York.

GO DANNY GO!! But yeah, whiners unite, here are a list of some possible whiney topics.
    1) Wont this cost a lot of money, how can the Williams government justify this when gamblers and alcoholoics are going hungry every day? 2) Danny can afford to bring a bunch of rich New Yorkers to lunch, but Newfoundland has thr worst health care on the planet!! 3) He should have given the money to the failing Newfoundland fishery and forsaken potential investment opportunities in a massive economic market like New York!! Dont listen to em Danny, you are doing a supurb job!!
