Hazardous winds expected for Wreckhouse area, mild weather expected for east coast

Environment Canada is forecasting potentially hazardous winds in the Wreckhouse area of southwestern Newfoundland starting on Tuesday.
Strong southeasterly winds will develop early Tuesday morning and persist throughout the day. Peak gusts reaching up to 140 km/h are expected Tuesday afternoon. Strong winds gusting to 100 km/h are also expected along parts of the west coast.
Along the east coast including the Avalon Peninsula today, the wind will be northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 except gusting to 70 along parts of the coast.
For Tuesday, snow or ice pellets are expected to begin in the evening. Wind becoming southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 except gusting to 70 along parts of the coast. High zero. For Wednesday, periods of rain are expected with a high of plus 4.
